Motto

Clubs

At Addenbrooke Classical Academy, we believe in creating a well-rounded learning experience. We offer our students a variety of clubs to choose from. Getting involved in a club allows students to cultivate friendships with peers who share their interests, develop leadership skills, and explore new opportunities.

Elementary Clubs

Lego Club. Does your kindergartner through third grader love to build and imagine? If so, Lego Club is where it’s at! Students learn basic engineering skills as they compete against their peers from other schools. This year's competition is called Creature Craze. We meet Thursdays from 3:45–4:45 p.m. K-1 is in Mrs. Dowell’s classroom, and 2nd and 3rd grade meets in Ms. Edgel's art room.

Middle School Clubs

Ballroom Dance - Two divisions - beginning ballroom meets every other week, and advanced ballroom meets every week. Learn the classic styles of dance including Waltz, Foxtrot, Swing, Cha-Cha, Salsa, and more!

Card Games - Get together with your friends and play a game of cards. Playing cards, Pokemon, Uno, Old Maid, Dutch Blitz, the choice is up to you. You supply the games.

Conversational French - Please come and enjoy a cross-cultural experience in French. We will speak, read, watch movies, learn a few "naughty" words, and sing in French. No English will be required.

Chess - One of the world’s great games. If you know how to play, or want to learn, come join us. It’s fun, competitive, addictive at times, and ... good for your brain! (I can explain how...) Also, 75 points to any student that beats Mr Nitschke.

The Green Club - Help greenify our school and the community! We will be brainstorming how to launch a recycling program, planting spring flowers and veggies, and creating sustainable solutions to needs around the school and the community!

Strategy Games - Teaching students how to play games that require strategy, logic, reasoning, and problem solving skills.

Coding! - Students will learn about how computers and the internet work. They will have a choice of working with programs to learn java, html/css, scratch, or SQL using Khan Academy resources. We may even dip our toe into coding robotics using sphero robots.
