A Message from Principal Spencer

Friends and Family of Addenbrooke Grammar School Students,

I hope all of you feel rested and ready to get through until Thanksgiving. We started this stretch off magnificently with our literacy night on Wednesday, October 17. Thank you to Cheri Mazurek, Chad Coleman, Afton HIckey, Margaret Feltham, Marianne Godinez, Laura Finoia, Alicia Black, Drew Reynolds, April Maness, and Katie Wheeler for all your work and dedication. The evening was fantastic. Another thank you to Rose Auferio for the great mom’s math activity. Over 35 moms were present and we again ran out of snacks. Fourth grade had an amazing heart dissection at the Museum of Science and Nature on October 18.

Other things in the works: Trick or Treat Street is on Monday, October 29 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Please join us and bring your canned food to kick off "Wrap the School" project. Halloween parties and parade is October 31 starting at 8:00 a.m. Please remember our costume guidelines, and have students wear their uniforms under their costumes if at all possible. In addition, they should bring a bag labeled with their name to store their costume once the festivities are over. November 1 (Candy Coma Day) there is no school for Grammar School students.

We will be collecting unwanted Halloween candy for the Troops (box in the front office) through November 9 (our Veterans’ Day celebration). If you would like to donate candy, please place bagged candy in the box located in the front office.

This is a reminder that all sign orders for our sports boosters are due tomorrow. These are beautiful pieces. Also, the PACS has asked me to remind you that our first box top collection will be mailed on October 26, so bring in your box tops, and please keep saving them for a good cause.

Have a fabulous week.

Sincerely,

Julie Spencer
Addenbrooke Grammar School, Principal

Lice Information

Did you know that as many as six million to 12 million people worldwide get head lice every year, and cleanliness has nothing to do with who will be targets of the blood-sucking insects.

Head lice are a common problem that typically affects school-aged children and their families. We encourage you to become familiar with the lice information below.
